The City of Alden supplies it city with Water, Waste Water, and Garbage Removal. In order to get the water to your home or business you need to contact the city at the City Hall at (515) 859-3344 to let them and know and they help you with the process of getting hook up into the city mains and sewer system. If you have any problems with your service you can contact Dan Zoske at , Tom Vanderloop at , or at the phone numbers listed above. They will be glad to assist you after hours if your service fails before the meter or after it leaves your house. If it is a problem in your house or business, and after the meter, it is your own responsibility and you will need to contact a plumber.
If you are in the city limits and need garbage removal at your residence or business you will also need to contact the city hall and they will get you into the garbage collection system. Garbage collection is normally on Thursdays for residents in the City and recycling pickup is every other Thursday at the curbside. There is also recycling drop off next to the city hall every other week opposite of curbside pick next the city hall in the green bin.
